Day 1: Arrival in Denpasar, Bali
The first day of your tour is simply an arrival day with no pre-organised activities. In order to allow time to relax and see some additional sights you may wish to add pre tour accommodation. After being met at the airport you will be transferred to your hotel in Ubud; the cultural center of Bali. In the evening we will meet for a brief orientation and Q&A session, a drink before dinner and then a relaxing evening to unwind.
Our day begins with a rustic morning yoga class set amidst terraced rice paddies and nestled in the quaint mountain village of Ubud. This environment is relaxing, genuine, friendly, comfortable, earthy, and unpretentious. The location in Ubud allows you to take full advantage of Bali’s beautiful mountain scenery and peaceful easy-going lifestyle. Following our return to the hotel we head out on a lunchtime trek through the countryside and rice fields to one of Bali’s hidden gems; an organic restaurant tucked away in stunning scenery. The afternoon will be free time to explore Ubud or indulge in one of many available spa treatments or massages.
Day 3: Ubud – Besakih “Mother Temple” Tour
Today we head onto the slopes of Mount Agung; Bali’s tallest volcano. It is here we will visit the mother temple known as Besakih. The drive through the countryside with its winding roads is nothing short of picturesque. We will make stops along the way at spiritually significant sites like the Holy Springs at Tampak Saring. On our return to Ubud the choice is yours; yoga, spa, or free time
The morning starts out early as we head for the local market to shop for ingredients for our cooking class. After the market we will return to cooking school to try our hand at putting together a traditional Balinese meal. The afternoon will be free however there will be the option to attend a yoga session in the early evening.
Day 5: Ubud – Kintamani “Big Mountain” Tour
Heading up into the mountains again we head to Kintamani but first we will stop at one of Ubud’s surrounding villages to see one of the most famous performances; the Barong and Kris dance. As we climb we will take in the view of Mount Batur and its lake of the same name. This will be a full day and in the evening the choice is yours to spend how you wish; a meal at one of Ubud’s amazing restaurants, an evening of meditation, or attending one of the many wellness sessions available.
Day 6: Ubud – Free Day with Options
Today is a completely free day in which you can explore near or far. Indo Discovery Travel will help you with suggestions of activities and will also be there to help you locate places that may be of interest like the Ubud Art Market, cycling or trekking tours through the rice fields, batik painting classes, yoga, cooking, white water rafting, etc. In the evening a visit to the Jazz Cafe is always a great way to end the day.
Spectacular terraced rice field vistas are synonymous with Bali. Today we make our way to the best views the island offers. On return, the afternoon is yours to spend as you wish. As always we will be there to suggest options and recommend activities. The night will be filled with a traditional dance performance at Ubud’s royal palace.
Day 8: Sanur – Free Day, Beach, Relax
This will be the first day we arrive at the beach and it will be on the spectacular eastern cove of Sanur. We will check in to our hotel and the day is yours to explore this seaside paradise and its markets, relax on the beach, or indulge yourself at the spa or in the pool.
Day 9: Sanur – Morning Cooking Class, Ulawatu Tour, Seafood Evening
This morning we will once again be off to the market and then cooking our traditional Balinese bounty right on the beautiful white sands of Sanur beach. On completion of the class around 1pm we will have time to relax. Later that afternoon we will head to the stunning temple of Ulawatu on Bali’s southern most tip. This temple was built on a sheer cliff of 100 meters that drops straight into the ocean. On our return we will witness the Kecak dance before heading to Jimbaran for a seafood dinner on the beach and watch the sun set on the Balinese horizon.
Today is a short day of driving as we head to the Canggu region for a full day of yoga, wellness, meditation, culture, and poolside relaxation at one of Bali’s most unique eco-friendly small village resorts providing an authentic Indonesian experience.
Day 11: Seminyak – Free Day, Relax, Spa
In Seminyak we will be winding down and spending the day relaxing on the beach, surfing, swimming, or shopping in the areas many boutiques.
